Meet our Head Chef Instructor here at Liaison College in Oakville. Chef Steve is the longest teaching Instructor in the Liaison College chain of schools. He started his career teaching at the Hamilton Campus in 2002 and has been with us here in Oakville for 2 years.
Born in the Kitchener area and now residing in the Greater Hamilton Area, Chef Steve had the opportunity to fully commit to his culinary style which involves cooking with organic and heirloom farmed foods making him a breath of fresh air in our local community.
Chef Steve received his formal training at Humber College of Applied Arts and Sciences. His studies, both academic and cultural, have resulted in trips around the world to such exotic places as Japan, New Zealand and Australia. His love of Asian cuisine comes from his experience working in the kitchen of a high end ski resort in the Japanese Alps.
Once back in North America, Chef Steve focused his trend setting Franco-Asian style in some of the best restaurants and hotels in North America. By the age of 24, Chef Steve was the Executive Chef of a high end restaurant in Burlington, Ontario. His most recent experience was at The Queen's Landing Inn and Conference Resort in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with Chef de Cuisine Stephen Treadwell.
As well as being the Head Chef Instructor at Liaison College in Oakville, Chef Steve is the owner of Jet Set Spice Company. Here he feeds his passion for flavour balance by mixing his own spice blends. www.jetsetspice.com
